The team is built around a diverse group of business professionals who can offer practical help and expert guidance backed by an extensive pool of commercial experience. All of our advisors are, or have been, self employed, running their own businesses.
Coming from highly qualified academic backgrounds and having solid experience in commerce and industry as well as being members of a number of professional bodies, the team gives practical and informed support. But probably more importantly, they have the practical experience of starting and running their own businesses to help you.
Our advice remains impartial and we ensure total discretion and confidentiality at all times.

Julie-Anne started working at SENTA in July 2006 delivering business advice and support to individuals looking at starting a business and new businesses, through one-to-one support and guidance sessions.
In the past Julie has worked on New Deal for Self Employment, and ran her own entertainment business for 20 years. She also has a background in health club management.

Manjit joined SENTA in April 2006 as Business Advisor his main role is to oversee projects and assist with the New Entrepreneur Scholarship. He has a strong background in finances, being a qualified financial advisor such qualifications including a BA (hons) in Finance, Financial Planning Certificate (FPC 1, 2 and 3) and CeMAP mortgage advisor accreditation.
Manjit also has various business interests, including convenience stores, post office and a web company.

Phil joined SENTA in September 2007 and is currently specialising in the New Deal for Self-Employed. His role also involves assisting clients with PR issues.
While he once worked in wine retail, he has spent most of the past decade as a magazine journalist and editor and is still active as a motoring and lifestyle writer with retail interests in Sheffield and Leeds.

Tricia joined the company in 2003 and has since assisted on a variety of projects including helping clients in the community, the New Entrepreneur Scholarship and post-start business support.
Tricia is currently assisting clients in the Southey and Owlerton Area. She has also run workshops including the notable book-keeping for the terrified.

Luqman joined SENTA in March 2006 and has a background in retail, banking & financial services. He has an MBA (General Management) from University of Sheffield.
Luqman’s role at SENTA involves assisting clients to progress on the New Entrepreneur Scholarship Scheme and assisting clients in the Netherthorpe & Upperthorpe area.
He is also an independent business management consultant whose skill sets include business planning, business strategy, business development, sales & marketing and communications technology.

David has worked with SENTA since November 2002 as a Business Advisor and trainer and is currently assisting clients in the community. From 2000 he worked in business support across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire.
David has extensive knowledge of self-employment, having set up a car sales business in 1995.

Dave joined SENTA in July 2006 mainly assisting clients on New Deal considering self employment with over 5 years experience assisting New Deal clients having previously worked as a New Deal specialist in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Wakefield.
As well as having extensive experience of assisting business start-ups, Dave is a qualified book-keeper and a member of the Institute of Administrative Management.

Duncan has been with SENTA since 2004 during which time he has been involved with assisting over 250 clients start up their business. His focus is on business strategy, business and financial planning and management team dynamics.
Duncan has over 30 years of experience in banking, almost entirely in the business sector he also runs his own management consultancy company, which serves clients in a number of industries across Yorkshire.

Sue joined SENTA in July 2003 as a Business Advisor helping clients start up in business and has experience assisting on several programs delivered by SENTA including delivering training.
Sue is trained as a business mentor and has spent 32 years with Lloyds TSB, in various roles including Branch Manager, Business Banking Manager and Area Manager covering fraud and operational risk.

Mick is a self-employed business advisor working at SENTA, currently providing business advice and support to pre-start clients and new start-up businesses.
Mick has a background/experience in banking and more recently New Deal self-employment training. A published author, Mick runs his own typesetting and publishing company, is a self-confessed ‘cricket nut’.
