You must contact the Inland Revenue (T: 0845 9154515) and register with them as self-employed, even if you already send in a tax return.

When you register, they will send you an easy-to-follow ‘Start up in Business” guide. Alternatively, you can gain further information and view the guide at www.inlandrevenue.gov.uk/startingup. There are penalties if you do not register within three months of starting to trade.
