Exhaust firm roaring forward
A Sheffield exhausts company is making its growing figures add up after receiving expert business support.
Exhausts UK are one of the largest stainless steel exhaust companies in the country. From their Sheffield premises, based at Sheffield Industrial Estate on Surbition Street, they provide a design, manufacture, supply and fitting service to customers nationwide.
Established in November 2004, they have enjoyed a successful first year, exceeding their initial sales target by more than 30 per cent.
To keep up with all the new business coming through the garage door, Exhausts UK took on the advice of the Sheffield Enterprise Agency (SENTA).
SENTA assisted them with a new accounting software system and training to use the system, in addition to funding towards attending a specialist exhibition car show to showcase their range of products.
Rachel Jarvis, Director of Exhausts UK, said: “It’s been a very successful year for the company and we will be looking for continued steady growth next year. SENTA have helped us get off to a good start.
“We had been using just an excel spreadsheet for the company’s accounts, but now we will be using the Sage system. This programme is easier to use for book keeping records and we are now more in control of the finances.
“Our financial year finished at the end of November, so we are implementing the new accounting system for the New Year. Using a more efficient and professional accounting programme will cut down a lot of time and effort for the company.
“The car shows allowed us to promote the company and build brand awareness and we hope to attend even more exhibitions next year.”
SENTA is part of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and provides fully integrated support to new business start-ups and businesses up to two years old.
Its start-up programme is funded by Yorkshire Forward under contract with Business Link South Yorkshire.
